Institutional Support to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of Kosovo

Today Secretary of MESP, Mr.Arben Citaku during the second meeting of the Managing Committee for the Project "Institutional Support to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning", said that the `Project to help the project and success will be shared`, which is being implemented within the Twinning Project and that project is supported by partners:

ARPAV: Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Veneto Region (Italy) - Project Manager, MEDDTL: Ministry of Ecology, Continuous Development, Transportation and Housing (France)-Junior Project Manager

  1. INFORMEST: Agency for International Economic Cooperation and Development (Italy)
  2. SMAT: Water Company Metropolitan Area of Turin (Italy)
  3. ISS: Higher Institute of Health National Health Service of Italy (Italy)
  4. ADETEF: Agency of the Ministry of Finance of France (France)
  5. IOW: International Office for Water (France)
  6. Warm: Water Agency Rhin-Meuse (France)
  7. BRGM: Bureau of Geological and Mining Research (France) and
  8. Aten: Technical Working Group, Natural Spaces (France)

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and stakeholders about the conclusion and implementation of secondary legislation implementing the four components as:

  • -Review of Legislative Framework for Environment and Spatial Planning
  • -Support in Water Quality Monitoring and Management of Water Resources;
  • -Strengthening Legal and Institutional Framework of Waste Management

- Spatial Planning and the Prevention of Illegal Constructionbeyond thanking them for their support the partners from France and Italy, the Secretary Arben Citaku said that the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has initiated several changes to laws dealing with four components for which the institutional support provided.

Also, study visits, which will be organized by these partners, will be very welcome to the relevant staff of these four components, said the Secretary Citaku.

Project duration will be 24 months
